A healthy combi of stir fry beansprout (taugeh) with carrots & sweet pepper

I've been experimenting with beansprouts again lately. I don't remember liking them back then (when I was in Malaysia).  Who wants to eat taugeh when we have all good foodslah? LOL.

Beansprouts are inexpensive here. It cost £0.60 for 370g at Tesco. Don't bother buying the can version. I cannot imagine how the beansprouts look when you remove them from can? Won't the beansprouts be spongy? Ewww....

Here is a simple recipe for stir fry beansprouts. It is a mix of east and west vegetables :)

Olive oil
1 tsp minced garlic
1 shallot (sliced thinly)
165g beansprouts
1 carrot (sliced thinly)
1 mini sweet pepper (sliced thinly)
Salt and pepper
Sesame oil
  1. Saute garlic and shallot till brown
  2. Add carrots and sweet pepper. Cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Add in beansprouts and give it a quick stir or two. Stir fry for a minute or so.
  4. Season with salt, pepper and sesame oil
