Vegetarian Pilau Rice cooked with Toshiba rice cooker

I know most of you cook rice in pot but a noob cook like me still need a lot of convincing to do so. As for now I will stick with my loyal Toshiba intelligent rice cooker. Here is my modified version cooked with rice cooker. It's a very simple and flavourful dish.

2 cups of rice (about 300 gram)
3 cardamom pods
1 tbsp cumin seeds
1 tbsp ground coriander
2 onions, chopped
3 cm ginger (finely chopped)
2 bay leaves
1 small cinnamon stick
600 g vegetable stock

  1. Squeeze out the seeds from cardamom pods. Dry fry cardamon seeds, cumin seeds, corainder seeds for a minute (make sure you do not burn your spice. I almost chocked myself when I burnt mine the first round)
  2. In separate pot, stir fry onions and ginger(with butter) till brown
  3. Add in the spices and give it a stir or two
  4. Add the rice and give it a quick stir
  5. Transfer all ingredients into rice cooker. Add 600g vegetable stocks and click cook
