Walnut and Dark Chocolate Chips Brownies

My friend teased me if this is supposed to be my Birthday cake. Hell no! I don't bake my own Birthday cake. My husband is in charge of baking my Birthday cake. Either that or he will buy one for me. The only reason why I baked this walnut and chocolate chunk brownies is because I ran out of breakfast and treats for myself to munch whenever I am hungry.



Believe it or not I had 3 slices at one go today. I was so hungry It's so addictive. The chocolate brownies is so moist, rich, and chocolate-y. It was heavenly. The best thing about this recipe is it is so easy to make. Definitely a must bake again soon brownies.

200g dark chocolate
125g butter
200g brown sugar
75g all purpose flour
40g self raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 large free range eggs
125g homemade yogurt (original recipe calls for buttermilk)
100g dark chocolate
55g walnut, chopped
  1. Sift flour, baking powder and cocoa powder twice. Set aside
  2. Grease and line a 23 cm square pan with baking paper
  3. Preheat oven 160 Celsius
  4. Melt butter and 200g dark chocolate in Pyrex over boiling water. Set aside to cool
  5. In separate bowl, whisk brown sugar and eggs 
  6. Add the chocolate mixture and whisk till all ingredients combine
  7. Pour in the yogurt and again whisk till all ingredients combine
  8. Gently fold in the flour mixture
  9. Lastly add the extra chocolate and walnut
  10. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 30 to 40 minutes (until the brownie is firm to touch)
  11. Leave to cool before cutting (I didn't wait. It was still warm when I cut mine)
